About me

Trained in code. Working in design.

I'm a Kuwait-born, Toronto-based product designer with over five years of experience. I studied computer science while working in game art, until clients who trusted my art hired me for UI/UX design.

That grew into product design, where years of watching builds drift from my designs made me learn to build. I now use AI workflows to build what I design, down to the small details.

This site

I designed and engineered this site and everything in it, using Claude, and every choice was made in the site itself, at every screen size, in light and dark. I built the system before any of the pages: twelve greys, seven text sizes, three surface roles and five animation speeds.

I spent the next five months building on that system. The products in the case studies are rebuilt as working screens measured against the design files, I set the timing for every demo that drives them, and I checked what each page downloads and what it does on a keyboard.

  1. April

A design system, before any page.

Twelve greys, seven text sizes and five animation speeds, each with a written rule for when to use it.

  2. May

    InfraHub, on a real map.

The first case study, with live maps instead of screenshots, and the navigation every later page reused.

  3. June

A shared library for the diagrams and demos.

The diagrams and demos from the first case study became shared parts, so the next two did not start over.

  4. July

    MyAutoBio, and a writing guide.

The second case study, plus the rules every page's writing follows, drawn from 1,495 screens of the products.

  5. August

BeFT, and an iPhone drawn in CSS.

The third case study. The phone its screens sit in is not a photograph, it is built from one, measured part by part.

  6. September

A whole product, rebuilt in the browser.

BeFT's app as working screens, thirteen demos on one shared engine, and the heaviest page down from 8.6MB to 1.5MB.

I am in Toronto, Canada and eligible to work here. I am looking for a product design role, with a growing focus on design engineering. I work best on teams where designers ship their own front end. I take contract work too, and I am open to remote.
