A section index that reads the page it sits on.
It runs down the left of every case study: a tick for each section, the current one longer and filling as you read. Hover it and the ticks open into a list you can jump from.

What it is
Every section with a heading becomes an entry, labelled by the small line above its heading. The section you are in shows its sub-headings, and a click scrolls to the one you pick.
Why I needed it
The scrubber it replaced took its sections from a list on each page, and every renamed or reordered section meant editing that list by hand.
How I did it
There is no list to keep in sync: it re-reads the page on every scroll, resize or change. On a wide screen it sits in the empty margin; below that it becomes a small button that opens the list as a sheet.
